Industrial Control & Electrical was contracted to design and construct a Prototype Electric Shock Exposure Test Box.
The purpose of the box was to simulate the electrical characteristics of the human body under various conditions. Conditions related to the extent to which and what type of personal protective equipment (PPE) was being worn. The box was then used for investigating the level of electric shock a person could be exposed to, or for measuring the level of electric shock a person was exposed to after a shock accident.
The Electric Shock Exposure Test Box comprised:
- High power component chassis design
- Chassis, box and escutcheon assembly
- Compliance testing
The equipment is now in use in New Zealand and Australian Smelters.
